Diskeeper 7.1

Diskeeper version 7.1-3 has been running for about two weeks now and our system performance has improved noticeably.
Your tech support was great! I was able to call in and speak to someone right away. He (Chris Wheaton) was very helpful and led me through the process of evaluating my current disk status and then starting the software with the right options.
I am very impressed with the level of concern from Executive Software for the individual user. I've received a telephone call and two questionnaires. Service means more now than ever and Executive Software is providing that!

I have been using Diskeeper and FILEMASTER for several years and I wouldn't be without either one in this VMS world! I have only used Tech Support occasionally but their service is excellent.

I have had no problems with either Diskeeper or I/O Express. They are great! I install and really forget about them. That's what I like. I haven't had time to work with the new features, but the first thing I noticed about I/O Express was the speed increase after the installation.

We bought two Alpha 2100s and we have become dependent on I/O Express. It gives a tremendously high cache hit rate. If you turn it off, you see a significant difference. I/O Express shaves hours & hours off of the processing time. One job went from 8 hours to less than 30 minutes per job! Your software is doing its job and IS able to keep up with it!

We are using the newest version of I/O Express in our production cluster with volume shadowing and an expander module. It has run for thirty days now with no difficulties.

I/O Express 4.0 is doing just fine on our VAX 3100s. The users don't complain about system performance anytime anymore! I am glad that we were able to give the 3100s a mid-life kicker with your product - it makes them feel like much faster machines.

I get less calls from complaining users. Once after a reboot, I de-activated I/O Express by mistake. You could really tell the difference! The users were screaming,
It's so slow!
I/O Express keeps them off my back. Diskeeper has been great too. You let it go; it runs by itself.

Frag Guard

Absolutely not a lick of trouble with Frag Guard. We have 500 users banging away, doing research, creating & deleting files causes a lot of fragmentation. The worst was on the mail spool. Frag guard does exactly what the name suggests, keeps the disk clean. It's a cheap way to fix a bunch of little problems and doesn't use up our resources. We are very satisfied.

The system that it's running on has software that creates a lot of files. We have tremendous volume files. 200,000 to 300,000 blocks created and deleted every day for Usenet News on our system disk. (Hundreds of Internet articles deposited in one location for the students and staff to access.)
We have run DK for a while and still had to do backup and restore from time to time to handle the fragmentation. We've not had to do that since we installed Frag Guard. This is a very useful product.

I like the convenience of the three basic windows in FILEMASTER. Seeing the directory, files and content of the file all at one time has proven very beneficial.

Filemaster works very well. There are times when we are testing system changes on a
vanilla
system and we fully understand the value of Diskeeper and Filemaster. We have much less work to do!
