"I find the software to be very usufull in our enviroment. Having end-users that on occasion delete folders or files on the network inadvertently can cause me some problems. Up to now, Undelete has been able to retrieve all files which we needed back."

"This a great marketing strategy! But anyway it works, because I've been wanting to buy "undelete" but there's something holding me back. So I'll take advantage of your email to get my question answered.
I thought "Undelete" was great and I can't believe that NT doesn't have a built-in undelete. I was working on a project and the trial version saved me a couple of times with files I accidentally deleted."

"Thank you for your inquiry concerning my satisfaction with your software. This is one of many good experiences that I have had with your company.
I am acquainted with Executive Software through your Diskeeper software, which I have already recommended to several people. I am also likely to recommend Undelete based on the strength of your other products."

"I have not yet tried Undelete (unfortunately), however, I am trying to persuade the company of the contract I am working on at the moment to look into a licence purchase for its 60 or so NT servers in the UK, as I think that it would be a great help in reducing admin workload restoring files from DLT tapes.
Previously the company worked on netware servers which (obviously) have the salvage utility in the operating system. I believe that the lack of such facilities as defragmenting and recovering files is a major flaw in Microsofts approach to NT and wish yourselves at Executive good fortune in providing the software that Microsoft lack.
Thanks for the good work"

"I've downloaded the product to test it, and have actually had it recover a set of directories which my collegue wrongly deleted (and the recycle bin was not large enough to contain the deleted data, so it was deleted 'permanently').
My experience was that the tool was very easy to install, and very easy to use (I got it up and running in no time). Given the fact that already an attempt was made to recover data, the tool was till able to recover a large portion of the deleted files (I expected that the previous recovery attempt would have permanently destroyed all files).
After this experience, I have deleted the tool (as internal policy demands), and have filed a report with our European support team (suggesting to purchase multiple licences).

"I used the Trialware of Undelete and I can say it was quite useful. Sometimes it prevented data loss. As you known most data loss is caused by the users and not by hardware issues. Raid5 systems and UPS is good to have, even better is a insurance for accidently deleted files.
After the trialware expired I ordered Undelete. I´m sad to say that it wasn´t delvivered so far due to problems within my procurement department. But I´m looking forward to using it as soon as it arrives."

"I just put out an order for 15 server licenses an 5 workstation licenses today. When evaluating the software I was satified by the way it worked, hardly any work and almost all files recoverable.
We use it as a quick restore function next to our backup. The main idea for buying is to be able to restore files that are made and deleted between backups. We don't use this often, but it would save a tape restore and thus a lot of time probably.
After using this product for a while I might recommend this software if it does all the things we wanted and it proves as stable as in the (short, one week) evaluation period."

"We were very impressed with Undelete. It saved us about a weeks work when I inadvertently deleted some archive files from our network (oops). I am trying to persuade my boss to buy it. This becomes more likely as we approach the end of the financial year."

"Undelete for Windows NT is very useful software. Data loss ? I don´t know how does it look like since installation of your trial version. All files was sucessfully recovered, users was happy, I was happy becouse coming home earlier. The only problem occured during uninstallation of trial version, becouse uninstallation program did´t clean all of the services, but it doesn´t matter I cleaned it manually. I tested your software with NT Service Pack 3 and NT Service Pack 4. So the problems with uninstallation might be related with SP4. I strongly recomend Undelete for Windows NT to all the system and network administrators.
If you are not sure what to buy Undelete for Windows NT or Norton Utilities for NT, I suggest to buy Undelete fo Windows NT. It´s smarter, full of options, reliable, saves time (time is money) and sometimes it might save someones job too."

Are you satisfied with being able to recover files directly from the disk?
Yes. It is a hell of a lot quicker to recover files using this package than fumbling around to find the tape from the right date before the file was deleted and trying to recover from there.
Often tapes are off-site in a secure location which involves more time and effort just to recover a single file. Your package is brilliant - a must for NT administrators.
Definitely, I would recommend Network Undelete. There are a few key applications such as Diskeeper and Network Undelete that should be running on every NT installation.
The installation was smooth and easy (rare these days), and configuration was equally simple. I feel the quality of a product can often be determined by the initial installation and how the software integrates or clashes with existing software and how good the documentation is.

I am satisfied with being able to recover files directly from the disk on NT. Network Undelete is very safe and easy to recover any files...I do recommend it to others.

Before I bought it, often I had the bad habit to delete the files under Windows NT with Shift + Del to bypass the Recycle Bin and of course, one day I did a mistake : I deleted an old disk backup of 512kb with hundreds of files made on a 2Gb hard disk. I didn't have any undelete, so I looked for "something" on the Web and I found Network Undelete. I downloaded the Free 30-Day Trialware version, and I restored the files directly from disk.

Network Undelete is fantastic... it fills a void caused from lack of NetWare's Salvage.exe type of program. Being a former NetWare person I like being able to check a near line utility before having to go through the bother of restoring a tape.

...We were able to recover around 90% of a folder structure inadvertently deleted during a major system upgrade. Since at the time we were also suffering a tape drive failure, recovery from archive was not an option until the tape drive could be replaced. I estimate that we saved approximately 1 man month of development effort and were still able to complete our projects on time.
We are currently revising our infrastructure with a view to upgrade, and are planning to include this software in this program. I have already recommended it to others twice!

I found Network Undelete quite satisfactory and, in some sense, amazing. In the one case where I have used it, it basically saved my neck from being wrung by the head of our pre- and post- sales technical support group. Due to a miscommunication between the two of us I prematurely wiped out a number of data and application files that were available no where else. Network Undelete allowed me to not only recover all the key files wiped, but also many other files that turned out were not necessary to recover.

I was very pleased with your product. I am also a QA engineer for Filenet and used it for testing a new feature we have implemented in our product (Secure File Delete). I was actually given a copy of Norton Utilities to do my testing but soon found out that it did not work as well as your product (With Norton I could not undelete a file on an NTFS partition) I will strongly recommend your product to our Management...

Found on a Newsgroup
I have just lost a week's work. Here is what happened.
I was using PKZIP (2.04g) in a DOS window in NT 4.0 SP3. I was in a directory called D:\Projects\CCA\Source. I typed the following command:
pkzip -s1234567 source 980615.zip -m
.
It responded with nothing to do message and lo and behold, my entire directory had been erased. I searched my hard drive for any files that resembled the files that disappeared, no luck. The one thing that I did notice is the date and time of the D:\Projects\CCA\Source directory changed to the time that I ran the command. As such, I suspect that the command somehow replaced the directory.
As you can well appreciate, I am DESPERATE! Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Here are some details on my system: PPro200, 5Gb/4 partition HD, Windows NT 4.0 SP3.
Later C. Pitre wrote;
Panic mode off. Just downloaded Executive Software Undelete and was up and running in 5 minutes.
