How do I retain the original SYSGEN value for NPAGEVIR?

Digital recommends making a copy of the current SYSGEN values before making any changes. This can be done using the following sequence:

              
                
                  $ RUN SYS$SYSTEM:SYSGENSYSGEN> WRITE SYS$SYSTEM:file-specSYSGEN> EXIT 
                
              
            

This will copy the current parameter values to the specified file name. Restoration of the values can be performed as follows:

              
                
                  $ RUN SYS$SYSTEM:SYSGENSYSGEN> USE SYS$SYSTEM:file-specSYSGEN> WRITE ACTIVESYSGEN> EXIT
                
              
            

The system will have to be rebooted to implement the values contained in file-spec.
