The sites are focused on Windows NT and are an extremely valuable resource for data. A couple of them involve a registration, and I have received no unwanted e-mail or suffered any ill effects since filling out the form. This site will let you set up a personal bookshelf of five books at a time for 30 days. You can change them at any time. I use it often to find data I need right away. www.microsoft.com/seminar This site has a well-paced lecture that changes every couple of weeks. Currently it is a seminar on IIS (Internet Information Server). You get spoken word from Microsoft Specialists with graphical explanations. You have full control to go to any part of the lecture you need. www.microsoft.com/ntserver/netshow This is where you can get the media player to view the seminar and links to the latest streaming sites. A brilliant site created by John Savill. I have spoken with him and was very impressed with his willingness to help enlighten the Windows NT community. He is also an expert at OpenVMS and there is a page for that too. He has provided a weekly e-mail update, so that his Windows NT FAQs will be on your machine and current. In going through his pages, I realized that he was kind enough to relate the information as if he were making notes as he completed his MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), but in such a way as to communicate more clearly than any other web source I have seen to date. www.cobb.com/ewn This site has tips and techniques for Windows NT professionals. Articles and links make this site a source for magazine features and back issues. Cobb Group is a division of Ziff-Davis and they have high quality information. This is the home page of the Los Angeles New Technology User Group. I am a member and it is hosted by real Windows NT professionals in real environments. There are links and schedules of meetings but the real value here is the presentations. They are in .ppt (Microsoft PowerPoint presentation) format and cover a lot of ground. Let us know about your favorite tips and tricks web pages so we can keep improving the list.
