After I installed I/O Express on my system, it keeps crashingI/O Express may access pages in physical memory that have not been used previously. This is very common among large systems that have most of their memory unused. For example, a large CI-based cluster, with nodes averaging around 100 megabytes or more, may not use more than 30% to 40% of physical memory. When I/O Express is put on the system, it will use most of that previously unused memory. If there happens to be a hardware problem in that memory, your system could crash. The solution is to have Digital Field Service run diagnostics on the system's memory to locate and replace the bad memory board. System managers are often unaware of hardware problems until there is a system crash or disk crash. This is why system maintenance is very important. There are three things system managers should do:
Following these three steps will substantially reduce the risk of problems that can occur on a system.
