Does I/O Express speed up BACKUP?I/O Express does not directly speed up the VMS backup process. When doing an image or incremental backup you are doing sequential reads, so you never reread the information. By improving overall system performance, you might see an on-line backup run faster as an indirect result of I/O Express, as the system does not have an I/O bottleneck and can spend more time doing the backup than waiting for disk access of other I/Os. For more data, see the FAQ Is it okay to run I/O Express while I am doing a backup?
