On startup, I get an error, but no System Service Error Message. What is happening?

If something like this occurs you may have a logical set up with the same name as something which is called in the startup file. Use the steps indicated below to capture an output file of the commands completed and the final command which causes the process to fail.

              
                
                  $ ASSIGN TEST.LIS SYS$OUTPUT$ SET VERIFY(start up the process)$ DEASSIGN SYS$OUTPUT$ SET NOVERIFY$ PRINT TEST.LIS
