Since installing and running Diskeeper, more hardware errors have been logged for the drive than ever before

If your disk is on the verge of getting errors due to environmental factors or other routine causes, Diskeeper may be the first application to bring the problem to your attention. This is true for two reasons. Diskeeper is more likely than the typical user application to access every block of the disk. Also, Diskeeper forces data checking on every read and write operation.

If your disk and/or controller is manufactured by someone other than Digital, it may not fully support OpenVMS data checking. In this case, use the SOFTWARE_CHECK option to disable OpenVMS data checking and replace it with the Diskeeper software data checking facility See Section 2.9.2 of the Diskeeper Manual for more information on this qualifier.

If hardware errors persist, contact your local Field Service technician for diagnosis and repair of your hardware.
