The FAU statistics for total number of files and total fragments don't seem to match
The total number of files reflects the total number of all files on the disk. This includes all zero-length files. A zero-length file has zero fragments.
The total fragments is the total number of pieces of files on the disk. This total is derived by adding all the fragments of all the files. Therefore, since zero-length files contain zero fragments, the total fragments can be less than the total number of files on the disk.
The
Mean Fragments Per File
is calculated by subtracting the number of zero-length files from the total number of files, then dividing this number into the total file fragments.
