Is there anything I should do prior to the installation?

Yes. It is standard procedure, as recommended by Digital, to do an image backup before installing any new product. As an added precaution, you should also do an Analyze/Disk_Structure/Repair with FULL privileges on every disk. It is very important to run A/D/R on a regular basis to keep your disks in proper working condition. If you do an A/D/R before installing a new product then you can feel confident that you are starting off with a clean disk. Although it may seem like a lot of work to do, it will save you from having many problems and possible loss of data in the future due to a disk malfunction. So, do these two things:

1. Image Backup

2. Analyze/Disk/Repair with FULL privileges on each disk.
