Graphic v Text Views

The Fragmentation Monitor and Graphic Display are somewhat low-resolution displays. Each bar can represent dozens or hundreds of disk clusters. If any one of the clusters belongs to a fragmented file, the line is red. If each line represented 1000 clusters, it would be possible to have a solid red display with less than 1% of the clusters belonging to fragmented files. In addition, a line only appears as gray (free space) if every cluster represented by that line is free. Thus, you can have 20% or 30% of the disk free, and yet see no gray space at all.

The Fragmentation Analysis Utility and the Text Display give precise figures.
