Scheduling Problems

The scheduling can be confusing. The key is to remember that the "When:" window modifies the "Run" window, and the "between" and "and" windows modify the "When:" window.

For example, to have Diskeeper run between 7 PM and 6 AM seven days a week, do this:

Run: continuously

When: Everyday

Between: 7:00 PM And: 6:00 AM

There is one catch: A Diskeeper version prior to 3.0 will not stop in the middle of a pass, but will finish the pass it is on when the "and" time occurs. It is possible to have Diskeeper run right through to 7:00 PM if you have a very busy machine (lots of applications) or a very badly fragmented disk. (Diskeeper has been known to take a few days to do the first defragment pass on a really bad disk, though later passes only take a few minutes.)
