Service Pack 2 to run Diskeeper?

Service Pack 2 is only really required if you are running a laptop or notebook. On a desktop machine, you can usually ignore the warning.

About half the sites that that ran Diskeeper on a laptop without Service Pack 2 reported a system hang or a blue-screen crash; the rest had no problem. But only three reports have been received of having the problem on a desktop. There was no data loss involved.

We recommend you install Service Pack 3, not Service Pack 2. Service Pack 3 is very stable.
